Bucklesbury umbrellas are handmade in London from the finest materials and, with the right care, will last for many years. These simple tips will help keep yours at its best:

• Avoid very strong winds and storms, particularly in exposed places such as the seafront.
• Open your umbrella pointing downwards: lift the ribs slightly, then slide it open.
• After use, leave your umbrella open to dry so the fabric can breathe and metal parts stay free of rust.
• Never store it wet or creased, as this can damage the fabric.
• Avoid long exposure to direct sunlight, which can fade the canopy.
• Fold and furl it neatly to keep it looking new and to protect the fastener.
• Keep it away from radiators and other heat sources, which can cause a wooden crook handle to lose its shape.
• Please don't use it as a walking stick, as leaning on it can strain the frame.
• Clean with plain water only; cleaning products can remove the canopy's protective proofing.
