The craft

One length of wood, from tip to handle

The London Umbrella is made the old way. Its handle and shaft are cut from a single straight length of English wood, then shaped and finished by hand. With no joint to work loose it is stronger and better balanced — and rarer, because each one needs a flawless length of timber.

  1. English wood

Chestnut for gentlemen, maple for ladies — all from sustainable English forests.

  2. Japanese-engineered canopy

A densely woven fabric, cut and fitted to the frame by hand in London.

  3. Finished by a craftsman

Each umbrella is individually finished by a craftsman.
